Heartland EDC offers one Jenny Overhue/Heartland Scholarship of $595.00 through each participating state's economic development association (Kansas Economic Development Alliance, Professional Developers of Iowa, Missouri Economic Development Council, Nebraska Economic Developers Association, Oklahoma Professional Economic Development Council (OEDC) and South Dakota Governor's Office of Economic Development). Interested attendees are encouraged to contact their state's economic development association about this scholarship, as well as utility partners for information on other possible scholarships or tuition assistance that may be applied toward the Heartland Economic Development Course. Attendees are responsible for all registration fees. Those receiving non-Heartland scholarships should work directly with the scholarship provider for reimbursement of fees paid.

The scholarships are available to PDI members to further their professional training in the field. The maximum scholarship is $500 per application for eligible costs (tuition fees, course fees and course materials). The maximum amount of scholarship funds awarded to any one member is $1000.

Evergy Economic Development includes a local partner program that offers assistance in organizational development.
MidAmerican's Economic development partner program offers up to 100% reimbursement of tuition to provide skilled training as required by professional developers to execute effective economic development programs.
