Samuel Manternach

Samuel Manternach is a research associate at the University of Northern Iowa Foundry 4.0 Center. In this role, he is concentrating on robotics, automation and process simulation specific to casting finishing. He provides a point of contact for students to work on industrial robot material handling and machining along with modeling and simulation of both machining and robot operations. Sam graduated from Iowa State University in 2015 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Before joining UNI, he worked in a variety of manufacturing and engineering environments supporting sheet metal fabrication and casting manufacturing. He recently joined AFS and is pursuing his career interests in advanced technologies supporting casting manufacturing and additive manufacturing applications."
